I think Jake Burton's company has been so successful because he has worked hard since the start, used creative solutions to solve problems or face challenges and he is working with what he loves. He feels that his company is successful because it lives and breathes snowboarding,and it presents a vibe that makes the work environment, productive, comfortable, and happy. If I could own my own company, I would create a skateboard company because I like to skate board and coming up with new skate board designs would be fun and a good challenge.

DeleteJake's company is so successful to date do to the fact that he was a hard worker from the very start which is extremely important when you are starting a company. He feels great about what his company is today considering that all it is is snowboarding witch is Jake'a life. If i could have my own company I would love to love to have a wake boarding company because i have so much experience on these and feel like i would be able to satisfy a lot of people with my new board design and decals.

If it was my company I would try to make it as close as possible to how it is today because it is one of the most successful snowboarding companies ever.

DeleteJake Burton's company has been so successful because of his passion for his job. As said in the interview, he believes that to be successful, you need to work in a job that you are passionate for, and Jake Burton is a prime example of his belief. Also, he works hard and tirelessly for his company, which makes his company so great and successful. Jake Burton feels happy and comfortable about his company because he has been working with it for more than half his life, and he loves snowboarding. He works in his own snowboard company, which lets Jake live and breathe the snowboarding, which makes him happy and comfortable there. Lastly, if I could own my own company, it would be a plane company. I would own this type of company because I enjoy the math and science that goes into designing the planes themselves. I also enjoy flying, which I would be able to do constantly if I owned a plane and plane designing company.

I believe Jake's company, Burton, has became so successful because he is very passionate about what he's doing, and he also never gave up. He thinks he is doing the right things for Burton, and it shows in his work. If I could own my own company, it would probably be a surfing company. I love surfing, and I think I could create different things that would impact the industry.

He loves his job because of the access to prototypes and he just loves snowboard. If I could own any company it would be a baseball product design company because I am very passionate about baseball.

He feels pride in his company, as he knows that it was a hard road to achieve the success he has come into. He feels this way because he knows how hard he has worked for the company and how he has stuck with it through the ups and downs.
If you could own your own company, what kind of company would it be and why would you choose this type of company?
I would own a technical equestrian apparel company probably. I like designing equestrian apparel, and i'd want to design stuff that actually works with you, not against you. A lot of riding apparel isn't very technical so I'd appeal to more professional riders. I think I'd like this because i already entered a contest last summer where you design a pair of equestrian breeches and have to list the technical aspects of them, and I won out of over 1200 entires! My idea was seen as innovative so the company designed my custom pair of breeches I designed, gave me $200 to spend there, AND i get an artical in an equestrian magazine about my breeches design!
I liked how you stated that he pushed through the hard points of the companies development because many companies fail at this stage because not everybody is able to handle the stress of company development.

If you could own your own company, what kind of company would it be and why would you choose this type of company? I would create a golf club company, I would create the newest best clubs in their time. They would be able to hit the ball further etc. I would choose this because I would become instantly rich and famous in the golf world. I am interested in golf and I would make the game better.
I think he's so successful because he works hard and is creative. He feels good about his company because he enjoys what it does. If I could own my own company it would be a company that would put TV shows on the air. I'd choose that because I like awesome TV shows and I'd be able to make sure that I wasn't anything that wasn't awesome. Increasing awesome is always a good thing.

He knows the company the best and how to catch people interest cause he knows what people like him like. His gear is very good quality and it seems to have made him very successful. ReplyDeleteWhy do you think his company has been so successful? His company is so successful because Jake has had a lot of experience in competing in snowboarding. For example, in the interview it says he has been riding for forty years. This implies that he knows a lot about snowboarding and the differences between good and bad snowboard companies. Also, the way Jake phrased his wording to the first question shows that he has a successful company. This is true because most owners of the world's leading snowboard company would just kick back and relax because of their income. But Jake says he keeps on riding and testing his products as much as possible.

He states this by answering the question, "What is your favorite thing about coming to work?" He said when he is at work, it presents a vibe that makes him feel very comfortable, happy and productive. He also claims that he has been doing this for over half of his life. This fact implies that he still has a passion for his company and that he simply enjoys to work.
If you could own your own company, what kind of company would it be and why would you choose this type of company? If I could own my own company I would choose to own a supplement company like GNC. It would sell a variety fo healthy supplements from protein shakes to vitmans. I would want to own this type of company because I like lifting weights and I like helping people find products that improves their health.
I think you are correct in that his personal experience has a lot to do with his success and unique perspective on the outsourced products.

ReplyDeleteI think he is so successful because he works hard and he knows the field he snowboards himself. That gives him a view into the mind of a snowboarder. I think he is also very creative which gives way to lots of people loving his boards.

I think jake is very happy about his company and loves it. He is comfortable working there so he is more productive and works better. I think the vibe he gets makes him happy. He has to work so the fact he feels comfortable which if he works a lot it should be comfortable.
If you could own your own company, what kind of company would it be and why would you choose this type of company?
If I owned a company it would be a robotics company because i love to build and then I would do what I love.
I never thought of the fact that Jake's company is so successful because of how he targets a specific demographic. But, I completely agree with you. He does target a younger demographic and he knows what the younger demographic wants which makes his company successful in ways of profit and demand.

I think he is very happy because of how successful his company became. If I owned a company then it would be a sports company, because I have a passion for sports.

ReplyDeleteI think this company has been so successful because of all the hard work he puts into it, and his expertise in the field. His boards also have an attractive design, and most likely a lot of studying and science went into making the perfect board.
How does he feel about his company and why does he feel that way about it?
He feels very happy with his company. He is happy because he chose a job that he would love, and it keeps him inspired every day to work hard. He also enjoys the people he works with.
If you could own your own company, what kind of company would it be and why would you choose this type of company?
If I could own my own company, it would either be an animal rescue, wildlife rehabilitation center, or my own art shop; possibly I could do all of them. I absolutely love animals, they are my passion, and will do anything to help them. I would enjoy having them in my care, and educate the public about how much harm humans are doing. But since rehabilitation and rescue centers don't make much money, I would be selling my art on the side. I don't enjoy art as much as I do animals, but it is something I'm good at and most of the time enjoy. It's also profitable.

DeleteI think that one of the reasons that Jake Burton's company is so successful is because of originality of the boards. Jake Burton was one of the first people to design the modern snowboard and I think that many people like to own something that is the original. Jake Burton loves his company because of many reasons. One of them is his love for the sport. He can get at least 100 days of snowboarding in in one season so it is obvious to tell he loves snowboarding. So whats cooler than designer prototypes of tools for the very sport you know and love? If i had a company to own I would own a punching bag/sparring gear company. I would do this because I am in TaeKwon-Do and it is a relatively big thing in my life. So I think it would be sweet to use Jake Burton as an example and make something for the sport I love.

I would own a company that sold binoculars and scopes and any other type of optic. i love how binoculars work and how they function in adverse conditions. I would love to se people using them in the field and anywere being satisfied
I like your idea for a company. Contributing to our nations military is a great thing to do, and making scopes and binoculars for viewing long distances is a very great way to support the military. Not only that, but just for recreational shooters, hunters, or even just hikers who enjoy a great view!

Burton feels that his company just makes a great product and that he doesn't deserve all the credit that he gets from all of his costumers, but none the less he still has to work hard and that is why he is successful. If I could have my own company i would make it a snowboarding company as well because i love to snow board and I think that i could make some great snowboards that would inspire people to ride.

DeleteIn my own opinion, I believe Jake Burton's company, Burton, has been very successful. Ever sense he found a snowboard, he's been trying to make his own, however, he didn't know how to operate one correctly. The moment he finds out how to work one, he starts his very own company, a very great one in fact. I would actually enjoy using one of his snowboards, however, I don't snowboard. Even his designs are incredible. He uses so many different colors and designs to make one.

I wouldn't mind having a snowboarding company because I really love snowboarding. Also in the snowboard industry brand name doesn't have a large effect on the buyer, many people buy based on design, so it would be easier to compete with brands like Burton.

His belief and inspiration for snowboarding was key to his success. He also ever gave up on his dream of building and testing his design boards. He feels that it is one of his greatest achievements and he has a great passion that cant be ruined. If I could start my own company I would create a company involving basketball because it is one of my greater passions and I would never get bored of something I loved.

For that amount of time, 40 years, I feel like you would learn a few things about what customers are looking for, how a snowboard should look like, and all the things that come along.

I think the reason Burton is so successful is because how passionate Jake Burton is about snowboarding. Jake Burton loves his company, because he can snowboard over 100 days out of the year. If I could own my own company it would be a football apparel company, because I love everything about football, and that's what I'm passionate about.
ReplyDeleteI believe his success comes down to three key things. First, he loves the product, truly believes in the lifestyle, and has a lot of fun so he doesn't give up. Second, his product is good and it came to the market at a time when there wasn't much competition, which gave it a good market prevalence so he didn't have to try to go into an already overcrowded market. Third, he continues to innovate and create new cutting edge products.

I believe he feels like this because of the pride he feels about creating it, the employees he surrounds himself with, and the fact that every day he goes to work doing something he loves which allows him to actually enjoy and want better for his company.
If I could own any company, I would own a skiing or tennis company because those are my two main hobbies and if you want to be enthusiatic about work make it something that you want to work for. Skiing would be especially fun because I would get to ski a lot more then I do currently.
Jake Burton is so successful because his passion for what he does as well as his knowledge of the products and area in general. With his drive for growing the company and just about designing a board that not only he would like but everyone would. He was able to make it so far because his pure passion for the topic and his willingness to never give up on it allowed him to become the best in this field.

If I had a company them I would make a company that would produce power. With that my company could help the world to develop be ways and technology to product power without making waste and polluting the world. Im very passionate about this topic as I like to trying to look at new technology and how we can improve on it and with this company I could do that.
I believe Jake Burton has been so successful because he created his company after something he loves. ReplyDeleteHis determination probably had a lot of impact on his success. His perspective and experience were also majorly impactful on his continued success and appreciation for the sport. His unique experience as the previous consumer of his product gives him a major advantage in marketing and design strategies of the company. Additionally, his advanced skill on a snowboard allows him to have a unique perspective on the quality of his product.
How does he feel about his company and why does he feel that way about it?
He feels like it's a very personal thing for him; that he has a personal connection to the consumers and their demographic. Their respect for both his skills and success allows for his continued product creation. He feels like it's a very homely place due to his deep connection to the products.
If you could own your own company, what kind of company would it be and why would you choose this type of company?
I would most likely create either a non-profit or low-profit charity, that would sell everyday items or home-sourced products, for cheap prices that low-income families could afford. By sourcing the products locally, I would be majorly advancing local businesses, by keeping the products cheap I would be allowing for lower income families to purchase necessities, and by making it low profit I will be able to donate any additional profit to LDC's.
I think his company has been so successful because he is determined and has a love for what he does. He also works very hard and tries hard no matter what.

- I would probably own a clothing company or a food company, like a store that sells snacks like a cafe. I would just enjoy working in these categories because they interest me.

I would have my own cupcake shop. One of my favorite things to do is baking and I think I would love my job.
